engines are available for the Dodge Ram 1500:
Overview:
The 2002 Heavy Duty Dodge Ram 2500 (three-quarter) and 3500 (one-ton)
models are carryovers from 2001 in preparation for the debut of
an all new Heavy Duty Ram for the 2003 model year.
The
Ram 2500 is only offered as a fleetside pickup while the Ram 3500
arrives either in dually rear wheel configuration or as a chassis
cab for custom and medium duty applications.
The
3500's minimum gross weight rating is 10,500 pounds, and with the
optional V10 or Cummins diesel it is capable of towing trailers
weighing up to 13,900 pounds.
Four-wheel
disc brakes and rear wheel ABS are now standard on the 2500/3500
for 2002.

There are no changes to the exterior for 2002.
Interior
Design:
There are no interior changes for the 2002 model year.
Powertrain:
The base engine for the Ram 2500 is a 5.9-liter V8. A 5.9-liter
Cummins diesel and powerful 8.0-liter V10 gasoline engine are also
available. A high-output version of the Cummins diesel is also available.
All engines are available with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed
automatic transmission except the new HO Cummins, which comes with
a 6-speed manual transmission.
