| Overview
For
2007, the Ford Ranger offers genuine “Built Ford Tough”
heritage in a high-quality, high-value package. Attractive pricing,
an abundance of series, a variety of 4x2 and 4x4 drivetrains, a
trio of cab configurations and a wealth of options mean there’s
a customized Ranger for every buyer.
Ranger
emphasizes safety and security for the 2007 model year, with Ford’s
Personal Safety System, tire pressure monitoring system and SecuriLock
passive anti-theft system all as included as standard equipment.
The Personal Safety System includes a front-passenger sensing system
and dual-stage driver and front-passenger air bags. The tire pressure
monitoring system uses sensors mounted on each of the wheels except
the spare to monitor air pressure.
The
2007 Ranger is available in XL, STX, XLT, SPORT, FX4 Off-Road and
FX4 Level II trims, in regular-cab and in two- and four-door SuperCab
configurations. A 7-foot box option is available on XL and XLT regular-cab
models. Two new 16-inch aluminum wheels are available across most
of the 2007 Ranger lineup.
Three
striking new colors help draw attention to key exterior design elements
that include aggressive lower valance and power-dome hood structures
and a nostril grille: Pueblo Gold Clearcoat, Vista Blue Clearcoat
Metallic and the reintroduction of Screaming Yellow.

Power
Ranger offers three engine choices: a 2.3-liter, inline four-cylinder
(I-4) and two V-6 engines.
The
2.3-liter, dual-overhead-cam I-4 produces 143 horsepower at 5,250
rpm and 154 pound-feet of torque at 3,750 rpm. This engine offers
the highest fuel economy of any pickup in the market, delivering
24 miles per gallon in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. It’s
now the standard engine for STX 4x2 regular cab and STX 4x2 two-door
SuperCab, in addition to XL and XLT two-door SuperCab 4x2 versions.
Ranger’s
3.0-liter, overhead-valve V-6 engine produces 148 horsepower at
4,900 rpm and 180 pound-feet of torque at 3,950 rpm. The larger,
4.0-liter, single-overhead-cam V-6 produces 207 horsepower at 5,250
rpm and 238 pound-feet of torque at 3,000 rpm. All three engines
are equipped with a five-speed manual transmission and are available
with a five-speed automatic transmission.
Four-wheel
drive and comprehensive chassis upgrades are available for off-road
use.
