Man, what
are they smokin' over in Europe? The continent that gave us frogs legs
and Voltaire busts loose with two crazy concept trucks for the 2007 Geneva
Auto Show.
The terrain
conquering Sbarro Cruise Crosser Concept is based on Citroen's new 2008
C-Crosser SUV. Inspiration for this tri-axle pickup comes from the 1924
"Croisiere Noire", when some Candide reading French aristocrats
took a 19-month tour across the jungles and deserts of Africa by way of
the Congo and Sahara using half-track trucks. The expedition was sponsored
by Citroen's founder, Andre Citroen.
EDAG's Luxury
Utility Vehicle, or LUV, is a nautical themed custom ride built off
a high-end Mercedes GL SUV. It features oiled teak wood highlights in
the bed, interior, and hood to convey that, "maritime flair,"
according to EDAG's press release. The power of LUV comes from a Brabus
tuned 6.1-liter V8 rated at 462 hp and 453 lb-feet. It's capable of launching
this craft from 0 to 60 in about six seconds.
Euro tailgate
party, anyone? I'll bring the picante.
