TUNDRA S/C DEMOS PROTOTYPE TRD SUPERCHARGER
By: Michael Levine
Toyota is
getting serious about sport trucks. After recently introducing the Tacoma
S-Runner compact truck, Toyota Racing Development (TRD) brought this prototype
supercharged Tundra to
SEMA. The supercharger is expected as a dealer installed option in the
first quarter of 2001 and increases horsepower and torque in the base
I-Force V8 from 245 horsepower and 315 ft-lbs. to 340 horsepower and 457
ft-lbs.
The carbon
fiber and leather interior will also be available as an option on the
Tundra early next year.
