SEMA 2008 Preview: Street Scene Equipment F-150
Each year, Mike Spagnola, president of Street Scene Equipment in Costa Mesa , Calif., works with vehicle manufacturers to customize and showcase their newest vehicles at SEMA. SSE manufacturers and sells exterior accessories, from custom hoods, grilles and replacement bumpers to fog lights, roll pans and wiper cowls. The show cars and trucks that Spagnola and his team build help set the aftermarket design trends that will last the life of that model.
One of SSE's featured rides at this year's SEMA show will be a slammed 2009 Ford F-150 Lariat. The project is still coming together, but Spagnola has provided us a sneak-peek rendering of what the finished sport truck will look like.
The SSE F-150 will be a rolling showcase of potential exterior tweaks for Ford's new half-ton. It will wear SSE's in-house-designed bumper cover, side skirt package, wiper cowl, roll pan, hidden hitch, Cal-Vu mirrors, black chrome grille and lower valance, bed caps, and tailgate wing and handle relocator.
SSE is working with Ground Force Suspensions to drop the F-150 to the pavement. DuPont is supplying its Hot Hues Paints. The stock wheels will be replaced with Fesler Wheels' three-piece FS 906 rims, 24X9 inches up front, and 24X10 inches in back. Yokohama is supplying the rubber: P295/35R24 front and P315/34R24 rear.
Inside, Auto Extras will trim the dash and doors with carbon fiber. Rosen Entertainment is supplying a set of headrest video monitors, and Audio Innovations is upgrading the truck's stereo with a high-end infotainment system.
An Air Raid intake system and MagnaFlow exhaust kit will be installed to enhance the SSE F-150's 5.4-liter V-8, six-speed automatic powertrain.
