When it comes
to compact pickup trucks, more equipment is better. This is true
of Mazda's rugged B-Series truck line for 2000. Mazda has added
more equipment to the B-Series lineup from top to bottom.
The Details:
The 2000 Mazda
B-Series is available in three cab configurations - regular cab,
two-door extended Cab Plus and four-door extended Cab Plus 4. There
are three trim levels - economical SX, upgraded SE and the "take-no-prisoners"
extreme look of the Troy Lee Edition. Three models are available,
from the four-cylinder B2500 to the V6-powered B3000 to the high-torque
V6-powered B4000. Buyers of V6 models also can choose between two-wheel
drive and four-wheel drive. In all, there are 13 B-Series models
to choose from.
Among the changes
for 2000, larger P225/70 R 15 tires are now standard on all SX models,
air conditioning and floor mats are standard on all SE and Troy
Lee Edition models, fog lights are standard on all 4x4 models, a
heavy-duty payload package is standard on B3000 and B4000 Cab Plus

models.
The B2500 models
are powered by a 119-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine,

The B3000 is
powered by a 150-horsepower 3.0-liter V6 engine and can be mated
to a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. The
B3000 is a Flexible Fuel Vehicle (FFV), capable of using either
regular unleaded gasoline or E85 (85% ethanol, 15% gasoline). The
Mazda B3000 is the first FFV import-brand pickup in the United States.
B4000 models feature a 160-horsepower 4.0-liter V6 with 220 foot-pounds
of trailer-towing, cargo-hauling torque. A five-speed automatic
transmission is standard on the B4000 4x2 and optional on the B4000
4x4.
SE
models feature an AM/FM/CD audio system, air conditioning, chrome

All B-Series
trucks feature an independent, double-wishbone front suspension
and a live-axle rear suspension with leaf springs. A front stabilizer
