Nissan's
Aggressive Pricing Matches Aggressive Looks for 2001 Frontier
FARMINGTON
HILLS, Mich., Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Nissan North America,
Inc. today announced pricing for the dramatically restyled
2001 Nissan Frontier compact pickup at a news conference at
the Nissan Technical Center North America. Just 15 months
after launching the industry-first four-door Frontier Crew
Cab, the entire Frontier lineup receives a modern new look
and four new supercharger-equipped models, designated "SC,"
are added for 2001.
With
significant exterior, interior and content additions, pricing
for the 2001 Frontier (excluding the new SC model) has increased
less than 1.5 percent on a weighted basis across the model
lineup.
Prices
for the expanded 14-model Frontier line range from a Manufacturer's
Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $11,699 for the 2.4-liter
4-cylinder equipped Frontier XE Regular Cab 4x2 with 5-speed
manual transmission to $25,099 for the top-of-the-line supercharged
3.3-liter V6 equipped SC-V6 Frontier Crew Cab 4x4 with 4-speed
automatic transmission.
The
SC model, which will be available in November, is priced just
$1,250 above a SE Crew Cab and $1,900 above a SE-V6 King Cab
(this pricing includes the $699 Power Package on the King
Cab) -- hundreds of dollars less than competitive supercharger
packages.
The
supercharger model comes with standard 17-inch alloy wheels
and P265/55 tires. Also available is a Supercharger Value
Package priced at $1,549, which includes charcoal leather
seating surfaces with red stitching, vehicle security system,
flip-up glass sunroof, tilt steering wheel, premium AM/FM/CD
audio system featuring a 6-disc in-dash autochanger and a
leather-wrapped steering wheel with cruise and audio controls.

is not only one of the first available factory- installed
supercharger in class, it's the most attractively priced."
The
2001 Frontier features bold, industrial-look styling with
new front and rear fascias, grille, a 2-inch higher hoodline,
new fenders with large flares, new front fog lamps, a new
tailgate and badging. The interior has been enhanced with
a new instrument panel cover, new gauges, a new steering wheel
and new fabrics and colors and available leather appointed
seats and trim. New audio systems include an available AM/FM
stereo with an in-dash 6-disc CD changer and steering wheel
audio controls.
Frontier
continues to break ground in the compact truck class as the
first to offer a factory-installed supercharged V6. This engine
produces 210 horsepower and 246 ft-lbs. of torque with the
automatic transmission and is available in 2-wheel and 4-wheel
drive, King Cab or Crew Cab, M/T or A/T Frontiers. All supercharged
Frontiers include 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels with P265/55R17
tires, tuned suspension, power windows, door locks and outside
mirrors, unique interior cloth and special badging. Individual
