This
picture of Ford's upcoming 4.4-liter V8 diesel escaped from last week's
dealer show in Las Vegas. It
was posted on F150online, along with a photo of the engine's info
placard.
The
4.4-liter V8 will be offered in the next
generation F-150 in 2010,
and as the base diesel for Ford's Super Duty pickups. According
to the placard, we're estimating horsepower for the oil burner
to be about 340-hp and torque at around 430 lb-ft. For
comparison, GM's
future 4.5-liter V8 diesel is expected to
be rated approximately 310-hp and 520 lb-ft.
