Ford Motor Company recently gave notice that it's ending production of the Lincoln Mark LT, a highline version of the Ford F-150, because of lacking demand. But that doesn't mean there isn't room in the portfolio for an upscale truck that's on par with GMC's Sierra Denali. It's just that buyers don't want to pay $50,000 for a Lincoln-badged pickup.
So, into the Mark LT void will ride the upcoming, new 2009 Ford F-150 Platinum Edition.
We'd show you the outside, but it's even more covered up than the heavily cloaked inside.
What'll you notice is the updated steering wheel design and new chromed gauge cluster with prominent Platinum lettering. The seating appears to be skinned with leather and stitching that's similar to the King Ranch F-150. You'll also see the seats have been updated with better bolstering than the current F-150.
Two other items to note. This F-150 has Super Duty style tow mirrors and the baseball bat shifter has been replaced with a slant forward, sleeker cog thrower.
