Even
though it hasn't gone on sale quite yet, the 2008 Ford F-150
Chip Foose Edition is already getting some spiffs.
Cars.com
says the Foose F-150 has between $3,000 and $3,500 cash back
(plus another potential $1,000 in financing cash) on its, "intricately
detailed hood."
After Ford
introduced the Chip Foose enhanced version of the F-150 at
last year's New York Auto Show, news about the limited edition,
supercharged half-ton went dark. Here's an update from Ford.
The prototype
shown in 2007 was equipped with a Saleen supercharger bolted on
the F-150's 5.4-liter V8 - rated at 450-hp and 500 lb-ft of torque.
It was the same compressor shared with the Harley-Davidson edition
F-150. But for the 2008 model year production truck, Ford has replaced
the Saleen unit with a Roush sourced supercharger. Power ratings remain
the same, at 450/500.
The first
Foose F-150s should be arriving at dealers over the next few months.
The truck's base price is $36,355. Adding Chip's stripes,
wheels and supercharger will tack another $18,845 to the sticker,
for a grand total of $55,200.
