Ford has
officially announced two new special edition Super
Duty models for the 2009 model year: the Cabela's FX4 and Harley-Davidson
F-450 pickups.
Cabela's
FX4 Super Duty
The Cabela's FX4 Super Duty will extend Ford's factory
offroad package with exterior and interior upgrades influenced by the
world's largest outdoor outfitter, Cabela's.
The exterior of the Cabela's FX4 will feature a two-tone paint scheme
available in one of five colors — Ebony, Oxford White, Forest Green
Metallic, Royal Red Metallic or Silver Metallic — contrasted with Sterling
Grey Metallic lower accents along the rocker panels, running boards and
wheel arch moldings. Special mud flaps and Cabela's badging will round
out the exterior updates.
Inside,
the Cabela's Super Duty will sport either cloth seats with the Cabela's
logo or two-tone leather chairs. The center stack will be surrounded
by a dark Paldeo wood appliqué. The carpeting will be protected
by all-weather floormats, and additional lockable storage will be provided
in the front console and under the rear seats — to protect hunting and
camping gear purchased at Cabela's, no doubt.
Harley-Davidson
Edition F-450
Ford and Harley-Davidson have been building special-edition F-Series
pickups for almost a decade. Since 1999, the partnership has created
11 models, and the 12th iteration is the biggest and baddest one yet.
It's the Harley-Davidson F-450.
The Harley
F-450's exterior will feature blue flames that run the length of the
truck, plus unique blue and chromed plastic engine vents just behind
the front wheels. The fenders and tailgate will wear Harley-Davidson
badges, and "Harley-Davidson" will be spelled out on the
sides of the cargo box.
Inside,
the blue-flame effect carries over to the black leather seats, door
panels and center console. Strategically placed Harley tags will ensure
owners always know they're driving "Big Hog Daddy."
Other
Super Duty Changes for 2009
Other changes
for the 2009 model year Super Duty lineup include a factory
spray-in bedliner, called Tough Bed, and the availability of Ford
Work Solutions telematics and
productivity suite.
