News is reporting that GM is increasing rebates
on its light duty Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups, in response
to sluggish June sales numbers.
As of July
10, Regular cab buyers will have the choice of $1,500 cash back or
a lower finance rate on a loan. Extended cab buyers will be able
to pick from $2,000 off or a lower finance rate.
By increasing
rebates, GM is following Toyota's lead putting money on the table to
move its full size pickups off the showroom floor and into driveways.
