Development has released specs for its all-new 5.7-liter V-8 supercharger,
which fits perfectly under the hood of the Toyota Tundra half-ton pickup.
The roots-type compressor boosts horsepower from 381 to 504, and torque
goes up from 401 pounds-feet to 550 pounds-feet. Boost pressure is a
heady 8.5 psi.
The supercharger is compatible with Tundras from the 2007, 2008 and
2009 model years.
TRD superchargers installed by an authorized Toyota dealer carry a 12-month,
unlimited-mileage warranty, or the balance of Toyota's new-vehicle five-year,
60,000-mile powertrain warranty, whichever is greater. Installations
not performed by an authorized Toyota dealer are covered by a 12-month,
12,000-mile parts-only warranty.
MSRP for the supercharger kit is $5,875 (about $48 per additional horsepower).
It includes two components: the main assembly kit and a supercharger
fit kit. Labor is a separate cost, subject to dealer pricing and rates.
