Sporting aggressive looks meant to counteract the Dodge Ram the 1999 Ford Super Duty F-Series earns the badge for 'Most Configurations Possible' with a total of 44 different bed, cab, drive, and engine possibilities.   Amazingly 21 are new and 17 cannot be found in any other competitor's trucks.
There are four types of Super Duty pickup and chassis cab.  The F-250, F-350, F-450, and F-550.  Numerical designations change with GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Ratings) needs.  In the F-550 class, at 17,500 lbs, Ford has the highest rated 4x4s currently available.

Interior

Ford claims the Super Duty's have the largest amount of interior cab room in their class in every type of cab configuration.  Options for interior creature comforts change with the trim level. Each model comes with dual Second Generation airbags but for added safety Ford offers an airbag deactivation switch to be used with rear-facing child safety seats except on Crew Cab models. On Regular Cab XL pickups a vinyl bench is standard seating but can be upgraded to cloth.  XLT models offer only a standard 40/20/40 cloth bench with reclining seats and a storage compartment/armrest in the middle.  Optional on the XLT is Luxury cloth Captain Chairs with a center console.  Lariat trimmed regular cabs also come with 40/20/40 benches standard.  You can upgrade to leather trimmed Captains Chairs if you like. On SuperCab trucks the XL model offers an optional rear seat which converts to a load floor.  The XLT and Lariat cloth rear seats are standard equipment.  The Lariat offers the choice of also upgrading the rear seats to leather. The Crew Cab comes with standard rear bench seating on all models for rear passengers.  The XLT and Lariat benches offer forward-folding flight benches.   Next Page
