It has four
doors, all forward-opening. It has an extendable bed. It stands
taller and wider than your average S-10. And it’s got a swinging,
two-tone Yellow Acid Metallic exterior paint job.
The five-passenger,
four-wheel-drive Baja is one of a kind. It sports a special application
of the S-10’s ZR2 sport suspension, providing "Wide Stance Sport
Performance." The Baja stands higher than a standard S-10, with
a wider track. It also has a new front stabilizer bar and Bilstein
shocks, and upgraded four-wheel disc brakes with cross-drilled rotors.
All riding on 17-inch polished billet aluminum wheels wrapped with
Goodyear off-road Wranglers.
For heavy loads,
the Baja’s cargo bed features an Integrated Flexible Tailgate that
enables the bed to be extended. The gate extender folds rearward
and has side
panels that
fold out to meet the existing sides. Under the hood is GM’s 4.3-liter
Vortec V6, producing 190 horsepower at 4400 rpm and 250 lb.-ft of
torque at 2800 rpm. Transmission is four-speed automatic.
