Developed by
Borla Industries, the Fire Rescue Command Vehicle demonstrates the
versatility and utilitarianism of the Quad Cab.
Borla began
with a stock 4x4, "fire engine red" Dakota with a 5.9
liter V8. The truck is outfitted by popular aftermarket and fire
rescue component accessorizers.
Robbie Gonzales,
Fire Rescue Command Vehicle Project Manager for Borla, states that,
"Because of the Quad Cab's ability to seat up to six people
comfortably, the target market could include virtually any type
of emergency or enforcement agency."
Also added
to the Quad Cab is a GPS system manufactured by Clarion, with e-mail
and cellular phone, a personal computer that is able to monitor
the GPS system for traffic and location updates, and Schoshe EFX
high performance wiring to handle the additional load on the truck's
electrical system.
The bed of
the truck utilizes the "Cargo Drawer" from CargoPro, Inc.
and can slide out to enable easy access to equipment. The wheels
are 17-inch Italian MAKs with 31x10.50 Mickey Thompson tires. PIAA
provided the high intensity Quartz Halogen lights and Tomar Electronics
added the NEOBE light bar and strobes.
Of course engine
performance was upgraded by adding Borla's new PowerSet Cat-Back
Exhause System and Performance Air Filter.
